Myself and my partner were recommended to see James in the process of buying our first home. We had very little knowledge on mortgages and James was able to thoroughly go through every detail to ensure we understood. He was also very flexible in terms of availability that suited us, and was extremely efficient! I used James Cox to take out critical illness cover, after having been to a couple of other brokers (who I found to be out for themselves and unwilling/ unable to articulate the differences of the different suppliers and what was on offer, combined with the ability to understand what I was actually looking for) I then came to James who had a refreshingly honest and open approach and manner, he listened to what I needed without the waffle you get usually and didn’t upsell other things to benefit himself like other brokers had. I took out critical illness and was Dubious at first but thought I had better not take the risk being that I was due to have my first child a month later! Fortunately for me I did take out a policy as I ended up having a child with a heart defect which meant a lot of time for my partner off work, additional expenses we had to pay out etc so had I not had the cover it would have eaten into the savings we had but instead I ended up with a big payout and that was largely thanks to James being persistence with the insurers. I’d highly recommend James to anyone looking for a “no bulls$it approach” where you can feel like you are talked to honestly rather than being sold to.
